This Thermomix hot chocolate is a super simple recipe that hits the spot perfectly when your insides need warming up, or for those times when you just need a chocolate fix!

What’s Needed to Make this Amazing Looking Thermomix Hot Chocolate?

Such a simple recipe requires few ingredients! In this case, just four. You’ll need:

Milk

Any type of milk goes here! I’ve made it with regular cow’s milk, soy milk, cashew milk, almond milk and of course my Cashew Coconut Milk.

I’ve given a range for the quantity. I used to always make it with 500g milk but the kids didn’t love it as it is fairly intense. Our preference is now 600g milk, it gives a hot chocolate that is more kid-friendly and is really really yummy. Either way, both are lovely.

Cacao Powder

Cacao powder is essentially pure chocolate powder. It’s made by cold-pressing cacao beans and removing the fat content (cacao butter). Cocoa is made in a similar way, but with high heat involved to roast the cacao. This gives a different flavour and reduces the nutrition. You can use cocoa in this recipe if you prefer, you may need to adjust the amount.

Sweetener

I’ve listed a few options for this and honestly I don’t have a preference, I like it made with any of them! The flavour of the honey does come through a bit, so if you don’t want that, use sugar.

The other sweetener options listed are rapadura and coconut sugar. These sugars are less refined than other types of sugars are they’re my preference. Raw, white, brown sugars will also be fine in it.

Spice

The choices here are vanilla or cinnamon. Both are wonderful and I highly recommend you don’t leave out altogether. You can even use a bit of both if you like!

I made it with regular milk, cacao, rapadura & vanilla. Yummy! It’s definitely going on the ‘cold weather’ list.
