Thermobexta’s Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding

Chocolate self saucing pudding was the really special dessert we occasionally had whilst growing up. Mum used to make it every now and then and when I moved out I took a copy of her recipe. I’ve made it a few times and every time I do it brings back fond memories of eating it as a kid. Last night I decided I’d take it upon myself to try my best at a gluten free version of that sweet, chocolatey goodness, being that I have quite a few GF followers and well, I wanted chocolate pudding and felt like having a play with mum’s recipe. I’m very happy with how this has turned out and I really hope it makes you happy too! Continue reading Thermobexta’s Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding

Thermobexta’s French Onion Soup

IMG_6695

I took it upon myself to come up with a yummy onion soup recipe, as I thought it would be great to offer you guys another use for the sherry you purchased to make the Mushroom Stroganoff in Main Meals Made Easy… Not that I doubt you could easily use a bottle up making delicious stroganoff for dinner on a weekly basis, but it’s nice to have options 🙂 This took me quite a few tries to get just right, but I’m really glad I persisted – I hope you are too. Thermobexta’s Sweet Potato Soup

Sweet potato soup
All of a sudden it’s cooled down here in Perth and with that wintery feeling, comes the urge to eat soup. Well, for me anyway. I have included lots of immune-boosting ingredients in this one, it will be the one I whip up when one of us starts to feel a bit under the weather over winter!

Thermobexta’s Anzac Slice

Anzac squares

My go-to recipe for Anzac bickies for the past few years has been one on the TOM Organics website. It was easy to make, used a selection of ingredients I always have on hand and the bickies were just perfect. I went to make them last week and was sad to find the recipe was no longer there! So of course that meant I needed to try my hand at coming up with something Anzac-ish, Thermobexta-style. Continue reading Thermobexta’s Anzac Slice

Thermobexta’s Fast Blueberry Sauce

Blueberry sauce

This is a sauce I make for my kids when they ask for pancakes or crepes. Made from ingredients that I always have on hand and so quick whip up, it’s a lovely addition and adds a little fruit to their otherwise fairly plain plates. Continue reading Thermobexta’s Fast Blueberry Sauce

Thermobexta’s Sticky Lime and Coconut Cake

Sticky lime coconut cake
Well this was a throw together after realising I had no food in the house to feed my kids for afternoon tea today. I had a bowl full of limes and started thinking about good combinations. Lime and coconut won and this little beauty was born. I’m going to say it is possibly even better than my Brilliant Blueberry Lemon Loaf and I really love that one.
